Chris and the IFE team are passionate about sport, particularly triathlon and are nurturing environmental intern, Matthew Cox, who has GBR age group ambitions.
Team Intrinsic recognises that sport injects the energy needed to drive targets and achieve the highest goals.
“Intrinsic’s support is huge”, explains Matt. “Professionally it’s great to be involved with a company that’s so big on personal development within the business and away from it. As an environmental intern, real-life experiences in the built environment will provide the edge I need to extend beyond my own field and experience.”
Being the best means having a plan of action, the discipline to get up early, and to stick with regular, consistent, repetitive training – which is nowhere near as exciting as racing – but will deliver results. And to always to be the best, it’s vital to keep the goal in mind. All of this mirrors our values and how we operate as a company.
Matt, 29, lives with his fiancée, Laura, who’s a World Class Trampolinist. The dynamic couple have recently renovated their new home, and Matt, who teaches troubled teenagers, is also studying for an open university degree in Environmental Studies, sponsored by Intrinsic Facilities Engineering.
A relatively late starter, Matt, who’ll be 30 in 2017, uncovered a latent ability as a runner, and a triathlete in the last five years.
He has been on the leader board at the JLL Property Triathlon over the last three years. His 5K PB is a speedy 16.36.
